heterogeneous
A mixture with more than one type of matter and more than one set of properties.
homogeneous
Matter with one set of properties.
matter
Anything that has mass (can be weighed) and volume (takes up space)
particle
They make up matter. They can be atoms, molecules, or ions.
properties
Characteristics of matter. (color, taste, smell, feel, density, magnetism, etc.)
mixture
A combination of 2 or more different types of matter.
WHMIS
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System uses symbols to show information about hazardous materials.
pure substance
One type of matter with one set of properties
